Not everyone, however, is yet convinced that this is enough. Infact in India we are yet to give women the status which she deserves. Women reservation bill is biting the dust in parliament for more than a decade now, reason opposition from the regional parties particularly from UP and Bihar because elections in these two states are won by muscle power and they know if they have a compulsion of fielding a women candidate they cannot show their muscle power. There are women who still have to use Ghungat/Veil in front of elders. There are educated women who wanted to work but where not allowed by their husband or in-laws only and only because they felt insecure about her independence. When we see a female smoking in urban cities we call it influence of western culture, what about those women in remote villages of India who smoke Bidi’s and Hukka’s? Are they also influenced by western culture, well certainly not, most of those women are working as labourer’s (Agriculture etc). May be they are not getting paid for cultivating their own land but they certainly are the bread earner’s for their families. My mother never used to sleep till she made sure I have eaten my dinner, my sister’s always used to sacrifice for me if we all liked same toy even though she was hardly 1 year older than me (That’s the sign of strong women’s heart). And now my wife has taken all the responsibility to ensure I get all the love and affection. So every woman definitely deservers to be on top
AND MEN REMEMBER
You don't have to be anti-man to be pro-woman.
Glimpses of 'Inductive reasoning' (If its true for one, its true for all) are apparent.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, women are as deserving as men. Why have reservations then? :-)
May I ask why we have so many categories in our country...like SC/ST,RBA,and now Minority quota etc...Reservations are introduced for uplifting any community, caste or minority or sex. I say reservations are important but they are miss-used in our country...Reservation should be temporary for a specific period but unfortunately our successive governments have failed to address their issues. Leave urban women aside, women in rural areas is still deprived of what she deserves. Therefore I am in favor of reservation for women but it should be planned in a proper manner and only till the goal is achieved. But this quota should be assigned from the existing quotas. For example take out 5% from SC/ST, 1% each from other quotas and assign it to women. I think you will agree with me on this??
